Role Description

Unified Global is seeking a Senior Accountant with solid experience in US payroll processing to join our remote team. This role will be instrumental in managing financial reporting, audits, payroll compliance, and financial planning. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting background with specific expertise in US payroll laws, multi-state payroll processing, and payroll tax reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the integrity of financial data through accurate recording, verification, and consolidation of transactions.
  • Prepare and analyze journal entries related to assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and produce trial balances.
  • Summarize financial performance by preparing balance sheets, income statements, and other reports.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Lead internal audit engagements and assist with external audits and quarterly reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and SOX requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and reporting efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including payroll responsibilities
  • Big 4 experience and/or CPA designation preferred
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and revenue recognition principles
  • Experience with NetSuite is required
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across departments and influence decisions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment
  • Demonstrated leadership in audit and financial reporting processes
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills

System requirements:

  • Computer Processor: At least i5, 8th generation for both primary and back up computers
  • Computer Memory/RAM: At least 8.00 GB for both primary and back up computers
  • Computer OS: Windows or Mac
  • Extra Monitor
  • MS Office License
  • Internet speed must be running on a 20+ Mbps wired plan (at least 10 Mbps for back up)
