Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review full sets of financial statements in accordance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual bookkeeping for Singapore entities.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing of accounts.
- Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet schedules and reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Prepare Monthly and Annual Management Accounts, including:
- Profit & Loss
- Balance Sheet
- Detailed schedules (Bank, AR/AP, Prepayments, Fixed Assets, Intercompany)
- Review client management accounts, propose and post adjustment entries.
- Prepare and submit XBRL filings.
- Prepare consolidated management accounts and consolidated financial statements.
- Perform complex consolidation across multiple entities with different currencies and financial year ends.
- Handle accounting for large financial investment companies.
- Calculate dividends available for distribution to shareholders.
- Prepare interest amortisation schedules for long-term loans.
- Calculate and account for FRS 116 (Leases).
- Process supplier payments through banking platforms.
- Assist with client's statutory audits, resolve discrepancies, and provide required documentation.
2. Tax, Compliance & Statutory Reporting
- Prepare and review withholding tax filings and related compliance.
- Prepare, review, and submit GST returns, including reconciliations and compliance checks.
- Support tax computations, deferred tax calculations, and preparation of tax schedules.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including:
- ACRA
- IRAS
- CPF Board
- Other relevant regulatory authorities
- Assist with audits, including preparation of audit schedules and liaison with external auditors and IRAS auditors.
- Assist with OED submissions.
3. Payroll & Employee Tax Compliance
- Process and review Singapore payroll accurately and on time.
- Handle payroll-related reconciliations and statutory schedules.
- Ensure compliance with:
- CPF contributions and submissions.
- Skills Development Levy (SDL) calculations and payments.
- GLP calculation and application.
- Prepare and submit annual employee tax filings, including:
- IR21
- IR8A
- IR8S
- Appendix 8A / 8B
4. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Manage and handle a portfolio of 10 to 30 clients depending on size of any team they are managing and the complexity of the accounts.
- Act as the key point of contact for assigned Singapore clients.
- Conduct client calls and discussions on accounting, tax, and payroll matters.
- Provide advisory and consulting services to clients.
- Liaise with:
- Corporate secretarial teams
- Internal accounting and management teams
- Immigration teams
- External auditors
- Lawyers and tax lawyers
- Communicate technical matters clearly and professionally.
- Work closely with managers and partners to meet deadlines and service standards.
5. Quality Control
- Implement and support internal control improvements.
- Review work prepared by junior accountants and provided guidance and coaching.
- Ensure all work complies with firm policies and Singapore regulatory standards.
- Identify issues, risks, and opportunities for process and quality improvement.
- Contribute to the development of internal templates, checklists, and best practices.
- Support training and mentoring of junior team members.
Requirements
Technical & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification (preferred) or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 8 years of accounting experience, with at least 6 years in Singapore accounting and tax.
- Experience working in an accounting or professional services firm.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS)
- Singapore corporate tax and GST
- ACRA and IRAS compliance requirements

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.
