The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant – ERP Migrations to lead the accounting and financial data work involved in ERP and accounting system migrations for high-growth US companies.
This is not primarily a software configuration role. It is a hands-on accounting leadership role focused on ensuring that historical financial information is accurately transferred from legacy accounting platforms into a modern ERP system.
You will take ownership of the accounting integrity of each migration, including data extraction, mapping, validation, reconciliations, discrepancy resolution, and go-live readiness.
You will work with real financial data, collaborate with US-based finance teams, and help guide migration projects from initial data assessment through successful implementation. Your work will directly determine whether every balance, transaction, account, vendor, customer, and reporting field is complete, accurate, and ready for use in the new system
What You'll Do
- Lead the accounting workstream across ERP and financial system migration projects
- Extract historical financial data from accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero, Sage, and similar platforms
- Review, clean, organize, and map financial data to the new general ledger, chart of accounts, entity, and reporting structure
- Prepare and execute journal entry, trial balance, opening balance, and historical transaction uploads
- Map accounts, vendors, customers, departments, classes, locations, entities, and other relevant accounting dimensions
- Upload and validate bills, invoices, contracts, and supporting accounting schedules
- Reconcile financial data between legacy accounting systems and the new ERP
- Perform detailed reconciliations across cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, deferred revenue, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, equity, and other key accounts
- Compare closing balances in the source system against opening balances in the new system
- Identify, investigate, and resolve complex migration discrepancies before go-live
- Review migration outputs for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with US GAAP
- Coordinate with internal implementation teams and US-based finance stakeholders throughout the migration
- Communicate migration progress, risks, discrepancies, and required decisions clearly to relevant stakeholders
- Help establish quality-control checks, review standards, and reconciliation procedures
- Document migration processes and contribute to SOPs, quality standards, and reusable workflows
- Support and oversee multiple migration projects while maintaining strong accuracy, organization, and ownership
- Provide guidance to other accounting professionals supporting migration-related activities
- Support post-go-live validation, cleanup, and stabilization when required
What We're Looking For
Required Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience
- Experience operating at a Senior Accountant, Accounting Lead, Accounting Manager, or similar level
- Strong end-to-end accounting knowledge across general ledger, AP, AR, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting
- Fluency in US GAAP
- Direct experience working with US-based companies, clients, or accounting teams
- Strong balance sheet and financial data reconciliation experience
- Demonstrated ability to investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and independently drive issues to resolution
- Proficiency in at least one major accounting platform such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero, Sage, or a comparable ERP
- Experience reviewing financial data and accounting work for completeness and accuracy
- Exceptional attention to detail and high standards for financial data integrity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to independently manage responsibilities and projects with minimal oversight
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strongly Preferred
- Direct experience leading or owning ERP or accounting system migrations
- Hands-on experience with financial data extraction, mapping, cleanup, transformation, validation, and reconciliation
- Experience supporting companies as they transition from one accounting platform to another
- Experience reviewing migration files, reconciliations, or accounting outputs prepared by other team members
- Background in a CPA firm, bookkeeping firm, outsourced accounting company, SaaS company, or ERP implementation environment
- Experience managing multiple accounting projects, workstreams, or client engagements simultaneously
- Experience working with large transaction volumes or multi-entity accounting structures
- Familiarity with SaaS accounting concepts such as ASC 606, deferred revenue, ARR, MRR, and revenue waterfalls
- Experience with accounting process improvement, internal controls, or SOP development
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or equivalent accounting certification
Who Will Thrive in This Role
You are someone who takes complete ownership of the numbers and holds yourself and others to a high standard of accuracy.
When a balance does not match, you do not stop at identifying the issue. You investigate the source, understand what went wrong, and drive the discrepancy through resolution.
You are comfortable working with complex datasets, imperfect historical information, changing requirements, and high-stakes implementation timelines. You know how to bring structure to ambiguity and keep accounting work moving without compromising quality.
You can work independently while also guiding others, coordinating across teams, and communicating clearly with finance and implementation stakeholders.
You move with urgency, but never at the expense of accuracy. You take pride in delivering financial information that others can confidently rely on.
