The Role
We're seeking a Senior Accountant. This role is designed for someone with real estate accounting experience who can apply strong GAAP and financial reporting knowledge to a diverse portfolio of office, retail, multifamily, self-storage, hotel, and development assets.
You'll play a key role on the accounting team, ensuring monthly, quarterly, and annual close deadlines are met while handling everything from journal entries to construction draws and loan compliance.
Location: Must be in The Philippines – Remote.
Environment: Philippines and International Teams.
Language: Advanced English (B2+ - C1).
Time zone: Monday to Friday – 8-5 PM PST
Contract: Full Time
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Experience: 2-3 years experience in the real estate industry; experience preparing budgets is ideal; understanding of the CAM reconciliation process preferred.
- Skills: Working knowledge of property management/accounting software (preferably Yardi and Sage) and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both oral and written, with owners, tenants, and coworkers.
- Characteristics: Mature, self-motivated team player with good conflict-resolution skills; results-oriented, detail-oriented, and accurate; strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage tight deadlines and competing priorities; able to work under pressure and adapt to change; resolves problems using facts and sound reasoning with a strategic approach; committed to personal growth and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Support the month-end close process, preparing bank reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly reconciliations on balance sheet items while reviewing income statement activities.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, handle acquisition, financing, and disposition entries, and prepare elimination entries for consolidated reporting.
- Prepare monthly construction draws for development and submission to partners and lenders, and review construction in progress to monitor project completion.
- Prepare CAM reconciliations connected to tenant move-in/out, annual budgets, and reconciliations, and support the budgeting process for properties and corporate entities.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly loan compliance reporting, respond to lender inquiries, assist with quarterly board reports, and work with CPA firms on audits, tax, and related requests.
