Job Description


The Role:

We're seeking a Senior Accountant / Accounting Team Lead to manage a full-cycle accounting workload for a portfolio of U.S.-based clients. This role is designed for an experienced, hands-on accountant who is confident working directly with clients, comfortable taking ownership of complex accounting issues, and able to guide junior team members through day-to-day questions without needing to be a formal people manager.

You'll play a key role in ensuring client accounts are accurate, timely, and audit-ready, while serving as a trusted point of contact for financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance matters across a multi-client portfolio.

Location: Must be in The Philippines – Remote.

Environment: Philippines and International Teams.

Language: Advanced English (B2+ - C1).

Timezone: Monday to Friday – 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (8:00 PM – 5:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays.

Contract: Full Time

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
  • Experience: 7+ years of full-cycle accounting experience preferred, ideally in a multi-client environment, accounting firm, or outsourced accounting services; minimum 2 years working with U.S.-based clients preferred; experience managing 30+ clients, or at least 15 larger clients.
  • Skills: Client-facing experience presenting financial reports and explaining results to stakeholders; solid understanding of GAAP; strong proficiency in Microsoft 365; strong data management, analytics, and reporting ability; QuickBooks Online experience preferred but not required; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Characteristics: Assertive and confident communicator who can guide clients and junior staff through complex issues; strong interpersonal and analytical skills; comfortable serving as a go-to resource and escalation point even without formal management experience; detail-oriented and proactive problem solver who operates well in a fast-paced, multi-client environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis of financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights to clients.
  • Present financial statements, KPI reports, and variance analyses during monthly and quarterly client meetings via MS Teams.
  • Perform monthly bookkeeping reviews for complex client accounts and guide resolution of variances in reconciliations and adjustments.
  • Serve as the first escalation point for complex accounting issues, ad hoc requests, and guidance on payroll and sales tax filings.
  • Review QuickBooks file clean-ups for newly onboarded clients and lead accounting catch-up/clean-up projects as needed.
  • Interpret IRS updates and communicate key compliance requirements to the team.
  • Maintain consistent, professional communication with assigned clients and CPAs.
  • Support adoption of new ERP systems, tools, and process improvements.
  • Enter time daily in Karbon and maintain updated client checklists.
