What You'll Do:
- Coordinate closely with the Kroll Corporate Finance team to manage and monitor month-end close schedules for Kroll Issuer Services (KIS) and Kroll Agency & Trustee Services (KATS).
- Consolidate and aggregate month-end close schedules from various stakeholders, ensuring that all required financial information is complete, accurate, and submitted within established deadlines.
- Review month-end close schedules and supporting documentation to identify discrepancies, unusual balances, missing information, and potential reconciling items
- Investigate and follow up on reconciling items identified during the month-end close process and ensure that these are properly documented, resolved, and accurately recorded.
- Assist in the preparation of month-end financial reporting packages, schedules, and financial analysis, including reviewing account balances and identifying significant variances or trends.
- Prepare and record month-end reconciliation and adjusting journal entries in accordance with established accounting policies and procedures.
- Perform account reconciliations and validate that financial records are properly supported and aligned with the underlying accounting data.
- Coordinate with relevant finance and accounting stakeholders to obtain required information, resolve accounting issues, and ensure timely completion of month-end close activities.
- Assist in reviewing financial data and supporting schedules to ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation of reconciliations, journal entries, supporting schedules, and other month-end close requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of month-end close and financial reporting processes.
- Perform other finance- and accounting-related activities and special projects as assigned by the management team.
What We're Looking For:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
- US CPA certification is a strong advantage.
- 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with substantial exposure to month-end close, account reconciliation, journal entries, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
- Big 4 or large audit firm experience is highly preferred, particularly experience handling complex accounting, financial reporting, audit, or multinational clients.
- Experience working with US-based clients or US accounting and financial reporting processes is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to review financial schedules, supporting documents, and account balances and identify discrepancies or inconsistencies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate reconciling items and determine appropriate accounting treatment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with large datasets, perform reconciliations, analyze financial information, and prepare detailed financial schedules.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when reviewing financial records, reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with US-based stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with finance, accounting, and corporate teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight month-end closing deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where priorities and deadlines may change.
- Willingness to work on a graveyard/night shift to support US-based stakeholders and business operations.
- Willingness to work under a hybrid work arrangement.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong ownership and accountability in completing assigned tasks and ensuring deliverables are accurate and submitted on time.
