Job Description
Position: Senior Accountant
Salary: 50k to 100k
The Senior Accountant is a key contributor to the month-end close process and owns a broad portfolio of general ledger responsibilities. This role requires strong GAAP knowledge, the ability to manage competing deadlines, and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional partners.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries across assigned areas, ensuring accuracy and proper support.
Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and follow up on open items in a timely manner.
Manage accounting for commissions, sponsorships, influencer programs, and advertising activity.
Oversee other accounts receivable processes, including reconciliation and resolution of outstanding balances.
Maintain the fixed asset subledger, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and roll forward schedules.
Record payroll entries and maintain related accruals for compensation, benefits, insurance, and workers compensation.
Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and documentation within assigned areas.
Partner cross-functionally with teams including Marketing, HR, Operations, and Finance to gather information and resolve issues.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field CPA
3–6 years of accounting experience; public accounting background a plus.
Strong understanding of US GAAP and accrual-based accounting.
Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet close deadlines.
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and clear communication.
CPA candidate preferred.
Experience in e-commerce, subscription, or consumer goods industries a plus.
