Schedule: Monday - Friday, Pacific US time

Happy Construction Accountant To Help Bring Peace Of Mind To Commercial Painting Company Owners and Shareholders

We are in search of a Senior Accountant who will be responsible for assisting the company Controller with the accounting tasks and reviewing the work of Bookkeepers.

Beyond your experience, we are also looking for someone who is professional and possesses impeccable English language communication skills in both written and verbal. You'll be responsible for driving the recurring weekly and monthly processes for a portfolio of clients. This role will focus on WIP reporting, job costing, revenue recognition and supportive activities unique to the Construction industry.

You will be the key to ensuring clean client financials and partnering to develop our team's accounting and finance infrastructure. (You will have a team working with you, this means, for the most part - data entry will be done by someone else. Your focus will be the higher level stuff - analyzing, reporting and digging into the meaning of data. Especially helping with projects and cleanups.)

You will work with a small and growing team of awesome people. We'll provide extensive training.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining high quality cost accounting work
  • Managing month close process ensuring all client bills and project costs are posted or accrued if work is in place and of material value
  • Managing project financial closeout along with the project team
  • Manage client workload and deadlines
  • Ensuring final contract amount and closeout documentation requirements have been met.
  • Profit & Loss, balance sheet & Cash Flow statements
  • A/P, A/R & Payroll

We primarily work with QuickBooks Online and some Quickbooks Desktop.

This role is 100% work from home.

Responsibilities

In this role, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Provide client with the highest level of accounting support
  • Assist with Clean Up and onboarding new accounts
  • Process and reconcile electronic payments to vendors
  • Engage in effective communication with vendors
  • Review and verify receipts and other expense documentation
  • Traces transactions through previous accounting actions to identify and correct discrepancies
  • Assist with billing by inputting amounts of original contracts
  • Audit current electronic job folders for required documentation
  • Ensure job folders have necessary contract documents
  • Perform all credit card reconciliations
  • Input GL journal entries
  • Maintain the accuracy of the company's balance sheet and conduct regular audits to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Compiles reports such as, cash receipts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable reports
  • Inform Supervisor of any problems and escalate until resolution
  • Participate in team meetings to improve business operations
  • Will lead a team of Bookkeepers
  • Additional duties as assigned

Competencies and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or related field
  • Knowledge of US GAAP accounting method preferred
  • Proficiency with QBO accounting software
  • Proficiency with full Google Suite
  • Advanced Balance Sheet Experience
  • Strong Excel & Gsheet skills
  • Experience with ClickUp preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Seek to resolve issues and pursue the answers, relentlessly closing the issues.
  • Helpful disposition - the desire to lighten the load of a Controller
