Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant 1 is a critical role within our finance department, responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our multi-unit consumer services business. This position involves managing the accounting activities across various locations, ensuring financial compliance, and providing accurate financial information to senior management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Job Description

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely across multiple business units.

• Prepare consolidated financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing and reporting.

• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with management to prepare budgets and financial forecasts. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting. Strengthen internal controls and policies to ensure the integrity of all financial information.

• Coordinate and lead audit processes, liaise with external auditors, and prepare audit schedules. Conduct complex account reconciliations to prevent discrepancies.

• Mentor and support junior accounting staff, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Required Qualifications

• Has knowledge in accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.

• Demonstrates strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

• Demonstrates strong initiative and anticipates needs or challenges, addressing them before they become issues.

• Proven ability to work alone with minimal supervision, demonstrating self-motivation and the ability to make decisions and solve problems on one's own.

• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously balancing priorities and ensuring that all responsibilities are given adequate attention.

• Proven ability to work under pressure, ensuring that all tasks are completed within the required time frame, even when faced with time constraints.

• Clear and coherent both written and verbal communication skills in English.

Screening Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience.

• Minimum of two (2) years in a senior-level role within a multi-unit consumer services business.

• Minimum of one (1) year of payroll experience.

• Experience in financial software systems such as Dynamics365 and Microsoft Excel.

• Must a have stable employment history.
