Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records through the preparation and posting of journal entries, bank and general ledger reconciliations, and fixed asset management. This role plays a key part in the month-end close process, variance analysis, and the development of structured exception reporting.
Job Description:
• Prepare and post journal entries related to accruals, manual adjustments, fixed assets, utilities, and cash transactions.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolution of discrepancies.
• Manage fixed assets, including transfers, splits, disposals, and tracking of asset-related transactions.
• Perform month-end close tasks, adhering to internal deadlines and quality standards.
• Conduct variance analysis across various expense categories (e.g., utilities, credit card fees, supplies), identifying unusual trends or exceptions.
• Use JD Edwards (JDE) to run reports and queries for data extraction and analysis..
• Build and maintain structured exception packages by analyzing data and flagging outliers for review.
• Assist in preparing subledger analysis comparing current period vs. prior period or year, particularly for vendor-level spend.
• Participate in checklist-based task tracking and structured sign-off process for assigned responsibilities.
• Support special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
• Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
Qualifications:
• Has working knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Shows ability to extract, organize, and analyze financial data for reporting and decision-making.
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Shows ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work independently or collaboratively.
• Clear and coherent both written written and verbal communication skills in English.
Screening Criteria:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of four (4) years of finance or accounting experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in JD Edwards or other ERP systems.
• Experience in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, INDEX, MATCH, SUMIF, Pivot Tables, Charts, etc.).
• Must have a stable employment history.
