We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This role requires advanced technical expertise in accounting and financial analysis, combined with strong leadership and communication skills. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the VP and CFO, partnering on corporate strategy, financial planning, and compliance. Schedule: Remote, Full Time | 9:00am to 5:00pm EST with 1-hour paid lunch.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct variance analysis, ratio analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations to evaluate company performance.
- Prepare and deliver financial reports and insights to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Partner with the VP/CFO to develop corporate budgets, forecasts, and KPIs.
- Manage general ledger activities, revenue recognition, fixed assets, payroll, and intercompany accounts.
- Direct revenue cycle management, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) functions.
- Evaluate financial workflows and lead system implementations, upgrades, or automations (ERP systems, reporting software).
- Design, implement, and enforce robust internal financial controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
- Coordinate external and internal audits, serving as the primary contact for auditors.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements and reporting guidelines.
- Utilize ERP platforms (NetSuite, Workday, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and QuickBooks Desktop/Online for financial management.
- Develop and maintain financial models using expert-level Microsoft Excel skills (complex formulas, Pivot Tables, Power Query).
- Integrate and optimize financial reporting tools, data synchronization, and automated workflows to improve efficiency.
Requirements:
- 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
- 2+ years of experience working with U.S. clients in accounting.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for client-facing and executive presentations.
- Advanced proficiency with ERP platforms and QuickBooks.
- Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, Power Query).
- Deep understanding of financial reporting tools and workflow automation.
- Strong, current working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Proven ability to partner with executive leadership and contribute to strategic financial planning.
