Job Description

Financial Accountant

This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of the company's end-to-end finance operations, including accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, and month-end reporting. It plays a vital role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting cash flow management, and enabling informed business decisions. The position supports a dynamic business environment that relies on efficient financial systems (e.g., Xero and Cin7) to manage transactions, inventory, and reporting

Work Schedule: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday

Work Setup: Hybrid - Twice a week onsite

JOB RESPONSBILITIES:

Accounts Payable & Disbursements

  • Day-to-day processing of accounts payable (invoices, payments, expense reimbursements, approvals, statement reconciliations)
  • Updating Xero to process invoices
  • Liaise with suppliers and staff to resolve issues
  • Process payments and payroll run
  • Manage emails and internal queries regarding invoices or expenses
  • Report on accounts payable for cash flow and refunds

Accounts Receivable & Billing

  • Create invoices and coordinate monthly rebates
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries

Banking & Cash Management

  • Prepare bank deposits
  • Ensure daily bank and credit card reconciliations

Month-End & Financial Close

  • Complete month-end processes within required deadlines
  • Process adjustments and account reconciliations

Month-end accounting (JNs, accruals, prepayments)

  • Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations with workings
  • Ensure monthly revenue reconciliation
  • Prepare monthly expense analysis reports

Inventory & Systems Management

  • Ensure monthly inventory reconciliation
  • Process monthly lease depreciation and amortisation entries
  • Manage inventory syncing from Cin7 to Xero (adjustments, COGS, SoH)

Compliance, Audit & Controls

  • Assist with audit requests • Ensure proper reconciliations across accounts
  • Assist with PAYG, BAS, IAS, and Payroll Tax reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.

Administrative & Support Tasks

  • Manage finance-related emails and queries Perform other finance and accounting duties as required by the client.

Who we are looking for:

Non- Negotiable Qualifications:

  • CPA or non-CPA with at least 3 years of finance and accounting experience
  • Knowledge and experience in using Xero is required
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly in MS Excel Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to make sound decisions and good professional accounting and managerial judgments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferably with experience in reporting to a team lead and support in managing of accounts or engagements
  • Preferably with AU bookkeeping, tax and compliance background
