Job Description

This role is responsible for the timely and accurate general bookkeeping, preparing account reconciliations, preparing batch payments, processing payroll through employment hero, reviewing clients bookkeeping file, support in the preparation of books for BAS and IAS lodgment

Work Schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday

Work Setup: Hybrid

JOB RESPONSBILITIES:

Bookkeeping & Transaction Management

  • Maintain accurate financial records for a portfolio of clients using cloud-based accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks).
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial statements.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
  • Email management for various inbox

Compliance & Reporting

  • Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS in accordance with ATO requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of GST, PAYG, and other statutory obligations.
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and management reports.

Client Engagement

  • Liaise directly with clients to gather documentation, resolve queries, and provide advisory support.
  • Educate clients on best practices in financial management and compliance.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve client outcomes.
  • Support junior staff and contribute to internal training initiatives.

Who we are looking for:

  • Senior Associate Level
  • CPA qualification (or working towards) is highly regarded.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 4–6 years of experience in Australian public practice accounting.
  • Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, or similar accounting platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Australian tax compliance, especially BAS and IAS.
  • With experience processing AU Payroll
  • With experience handling multiple clients
  • Outstanding accuracy, proactive, organized approach to work with a high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
  • Strong time management skills
