The Talent

As a Senior Accountant at Appficiency, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the financial integrity and operational excellence of our business. You will oversee core accounting operations, payroll, and compliance while leading process improvements that drive efficiency and scalability. You bring advanced accounting expertise, strong business acumen, and the ability to provide insights that inform decision-making. You operate with integrity, exercise sound judgment, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

The Commitment

  • Oversee full-cycle payroll for global employees and coordinate payroll processes for offshore contractors.
  • Manage and review accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with internal controls.
  • Lead monthly close activities including bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Perform detailed audits on invoices and account activity, identify variances, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain financial records, reports, and general ledger entries in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Review and support the calculation of employee commissions, bonuses, and termination payouts.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize billing, collections, and overall financial workflows.
  • Drive or support the implementation of new accounting processes, systems, or tools (e.g., ERP, payroll).
  • Support internal and external financial reporting requirements, including management reports and audits.
  • Lead or contribute to special finance projects, offering recommendations for improvements in policies, procedures, and controls.

The Essentials

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 46 years of experience in accounting or payroll roles.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles, payroll legislation, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven track record managing general ledger functions, reconciliations, financial reporting, and monthly close.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience using payroll systems such as ADP, PGI or other similar systems.

Preferred

  • CPA designation (or working toward CPA certification).
  • Experience using ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and payroll systems.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, Lucidchart, or similar business tools.
