Position: Secured Credit Underwriting Head (UBP_J003048)

Job Summary: The Secured Credit Underwriting Head is responsible for overseeing daily credit operations to ensure compliance with regulations and bank policies, achieving audit and control standards. The role focuses on maintaining zero operational losses, optimizing productivity through streamlined processes, and minimizing operational costs by eliminating waste and regulating overtime. Additionally, ensures strict adherence to established credit operations processes, designs, and specifications to maintain efficiency and accuracy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Acts as checker/reviewer/endorser/approver of retail loan applications and all other products recommended by the Officer. Ensure that all accounts are within the bank's Credit Policy Guidelines. Ensures that exceptions/risk areas are fully disclosed and mitigated.
- Coordinates with the Business Unit and various support units (Credit Investigation, Credit Appraisal, and Loan Operations)
- Manages Officers/Staff and ensures that the bank's policies are implemented accordingly.
- Assists Line Manager in ensuring compliance to the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and yearly performance goals.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned by the Line Manager.
- Reviews and analyzes all loan applications based on the credit policy and within the Bank regulatory guidelines as a part of cross training program.
- Ensures that the credit decisions and recommendations of officers/staff in all loan applications are correct and in accordance with Bank policies and procedures.
- Conducts interview additional manpower needed on workload requirements.
- Regular monitoring of Teams performance and ensure that each task is accurate and within TAT and daily reporting of production of the team.
- Attends to business partners queries and concerns pertaining to an account and elevate to proper authorities.
Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or any related field.
- Strong background in retail lending, secured loan assessment, credit evaluation, and policy interpretation.
- Strong understanding of credit scoring, loan documentation, collateral evaluation, and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with credit systems, underwriting platforms, and workflow tools.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical, financial analysis, and risk assessment skills.
