Job Description

About the Role: The Section Manager – Non-Food is responsible for managing the non-food merchandise section in the retail store. This includes overseeing product assortment, ensuring stock availability, supervising staff, and driving sales and profitability while maintaining high standards of customer service and compliance with company policies.

Operations Management

  • Supervise daily operations of the non-food section (e.g., household items, personal care, cleaning products, general merchandise).
  • Ensure proper product display, rotation, and replenishment.
  • Monitor product quality, packaging integrity, and adherence to store standards.

Inventory & Stock Control

  • Manage stock levels to minimize out-of-stock situations and excess inventory.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and warehouse teams for timely deliveries.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and maintain accurate records.

Sales & Customer Service

  • Achieve section sales targets and contribute to overall store profitability.
  • Provide excellent customer service and handle inquiries or complaints.
  • Implement promotional activities and seasonal displays to boost sales.

Staff Supervision & Training

  • Lead, train, and motivate section staff to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Schedule shifts and assign tasks to team members.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide coaching or feedback.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the section.
  • Adhere to merchandising and operational standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in retail, preferably in non-food or FMCG categories.
  • Strong knowledge of merchandising, product handling, and inventory management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Customer-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
