About the Role: The Section Manager – Bakery is responsible for managing the bakery section in the retail store. This includes overseeing production and display of baked goods, ensuring product quality and food safety, supervising staff, and driving sales and profitability while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Supervise daily operations of the bakery section.
- Ensure proper preparation, baking, packaging, and display of products.
- Monitor freshness, quality, and compliance with hygiene and food safety standards.
Inventory & Stock Control
- Manage stock levels of raw materials and finished products to minimize wastage.
- Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of ingredients and packaging materials.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and maintain accurate records.
Sales & Customer Service
- Achieve section sales targets and contribute to overall store profitability.
- Provide excellent customer service, including product recommendations and handling inquiries.
- Implement promotional activities, seasonal offerings, and new product launches to boost sales.
Staff Supervision & Training
- Lead, train, and motivate bakery staff to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Schedule shifts and assign tasks to team members.
- Monitor staff performance and provide coaching or feedback.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the bakery section, including ovens and workstations.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, Culinary Arts, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in retail or bakery operations.
- Strong knowledge of baking processes, product handling, and quality standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Customer-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
