About the Role: The Section Manager – Goods Receiving is responsible for overseeing the receipt, inspection, and documentation of all incoming goods in the retail store. This role ensures accuracy in deliveries, compliance with company standards, and smooth coordination between suppliers, warehouse, and store operations.
Responsibilities:
Receiving Operations
- Supervise daily receiving activities, including unloading, inspection, and verification of deliveries.
- Ensure accuracy of quantities, product specifications, and documentation against purchase orders.
- Coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams to resolve discrepancies or delays.
Inventory & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of received goods, including invoices, delivery receipts, and system entries.
- Ensure timely updating of inventory systems to reflect received stock.
- Monitor stock rotation and storage practices to minimize shrinkage and damage.
Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety, and hygiene standards (for perishable goods).
- Conduct quality checks to verify product condition and packaging integrity.
- Report and document any damaged, missing, or non-compliant items.
Staff Supervision & Training
- Lead, train, and motivate receiving staff to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Assign tasks, schedule shifts, and monitor staff performance.
- Provide coaching and feedback to improve productivity and compliance.
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with store departments to ensure timely distribution of goods.
- Liaise with suppliers, warehouse, and finance teams for smooth operations.
- Support audits and compliance reviews related to goods receiving.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in retail, logistics, or warehouse operations.
- Strong knowledge of receiving processes, inventory systems, and documentation standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
