About the Role:The Section Manager – Dry Food is responsible for managing the dry food section in the retail store. This includes overseeing product assortment, ensuring stock availability, supervising staff, and driving sales and profitability while maintaining high standards of customer service and compliance.
Responsibilities:
Operations Management
- Supervise daily operations of the dry food section.
- Ensure proper product display, rotation, and replenishment.
- Monitor product quality, shelf life, and adherence to hygiene standards.
Inventory & Stock Control
- Manage stock levels to minimize out-of-stock situations and excess inventory.
- Coordinate with suppliers and warehouse teams for timely deliveries.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and maintain accurate records.
Sales & Customer Service
- Achieve section sales targets and contribute to overall store profitability.
- Provide excellent customer service and handle inquiries or complaints.
- Implement promotional activities and seasonal displays to boost sales.
Staff Supervision & Training
- Lead, train, and motivate section staff to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Schedule shifts and assign tasks to team members.
- Monitor staff performance and provide coaching or feedback.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the section.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, Food Technology, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in retail, preferably in dry food or FMCG.
- Strong knowledge of dry food handling, storage, and merchandising standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Customer-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
