Your Role

• Edit and correct rough transcripts automatically generated from audio recordings by carefully listening to the audio to ensure accuracy.
• Make transcript and formatting changes using an online editor synchronized with the audio.
• Identify speakers and insert the correct speaker names throughout transcripts.
• Format and supplement transcripts according to legal transcript standards, including:
• Reformatting segments into Q&A format
• Inserting by-lines and examination headings
• Adding exhibit-marking parentheticals
• Adding recess parentheticals and other required notations
• Conduct research to verify the spelling of proper nouns, including names, businesses, roads, schools, and other entities.
• Research and verify technical, medical, and legal terminology as needed.
• Ensure proper grammar, punctuation, consistency, and overall transcript quality.
  

Top 5 Non-Negotiable / Priority Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in court or legal transcription, with proven experience handling legal transcripts.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing audio and written transcripts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong grammar, punctuation, and proofreading abilities.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transcription/editing tools, with the ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive legal information.
