SAS Data Engineer

Requirements:

• At least 4 years of experience in Data Engineering and SAS
• SAS Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of Base SAS, SAS Macros, SAS SQL, and SAS ODS.
• Data Handling: Strong experience in reading complex raw data files (delimited, fixed width) and handling data quality issues within SAS.
• Legacy Logic: Ability to debug and trace nested macros and dynamic code generation.
• Scripting: Basic knowledge of UNIX/Linux shell scripting (to manage file movements and job scheduling).
• Tools: Experience with SAS Enterprise Guide (EG) and/or SAS DI Studio.

Job Description:

• Manage and monitor daily/weekly/monthly SAS jobs, ensuring accurate data ingestion from various source files.
• Troubleshoot job failures by analyzing logs, identifying root causes, and resolving incidents within SLAs.
• Deliver timely SAS-generated reports (Excel/ODS) to business stakeholders.
• Maintain, reverse engineer, and optimize complex SAS macros, legacy code, and datamarts for performance and data integrity.
• Document data flows and business logic; collaborate with modernization teams to ensure accurate migration of legacy logic.
