SAP Test Automation Developer - Tricentis Tosca

OVERVIEW

As a Senior SAP Test Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in client's enterprise SAP quality engineering and test automation initiatives, supporting large-scale ERP transformation and sustainment programs across SAP ECC, S/4HANA, Ariba, BW, MDG and integrated business systems.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation solutions using Tricentis Tosca, ensuring automation assets deliver sustainable value throughout the software lifecycle.

You will work closely with functional experts, QA leads, and SAP consultants to align automation efforts with business processes and quality goals, supporting reliable, scalable, and efficient testing across client's enterprise SAP landscape.

The role will help drive automation adoption, reusable asset development, and continuous improvement of client's SAP test automation capabilities across transformation, enhancement, and sustainment initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Enterprise SAP Test Automation Strategy

• Support client's enterprise ERP automation strategy by developing reusable automation assets aligned with business priorities.
• Contribute to automation roadmap planning, identifying opportunities to expand automation coverage and maximize reuse across projects and support activities.
• Promote standardized automation practices, governance, and quality engineering principles across SAP programs.

Test Automation Leadership

• stablish and champion automation practices, standards, and guidelines for the SAP test automation project.
• Create reusable, scalable, and parameterized Tosca modules to maximize maintainability and efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement of the automation framework and artifacts based on project needs.

SAP Business Process Automation

•  Design and maintain automated tests supporting critical client's business processes.
• Develop reusable Tosca modules and test templates that can be leveraged across multiple SAP releases and projects.
• Drive optimization of existing automation assets to improve maintainability, stability, and execution efficiency.
• Partner with project teams to identify automation candidates and expand automated coverage of critical business processes.

Test Data and Environment Management

• Create sustainable test data strategies that support reliable and repeatable automation execution.
• Collaborate with SAP environment teams to ensure automation readiness across development, test, and validation environments.
• Support data parameterization and reusable test design approaches.

Quality Metrics and Reporting

• Track and communicate automation coverage, execution trends, defect detection, and automation asset health.
• Provide reporting and insights to program leadership regarding automation effectiveness and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Community and Mentorship

• Foster automation best practices through coaching, knowledge sharing, peer reviews, and collaboration with project and support teams.
• Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, and code reviews within the functional, QA and delivery teams.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and quality excellence.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Must-Have:

• 5+ years of experience in Test Automation, including at least 2 years specifically using Tricentis Tosca.
• Proven experience designing and implementing scalable and maintainable automated test suites for enterprise ECC and/or S/4HANA environments.
• Solid understanding of SAP modules and key business processes SD, MM, FI/CO, PP, WM/EWM, MDG, BW, Ariba, or related enterprise applications.
• Strong experience with test data management practices.
• Experience working within large-scale ERP programs and cross-functional project teams.
• Ability to create reusable, parameterized Tosca test artifacts (Modules, Test Cases, Test Templates, Test Steps).

Preferred:

• Experience within healthcare, life sciences, medical devices, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industries.
• Experience working within GxP and validated system environments.
• Experience using OpenText ALM AQM for application lifecycle management.
• Experience with SAP integrations, middleware, and end-to-end business process testing.
• Programming skills (Java, C#, Python, etc.) to create Tosca custom modules if necessary.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices and working in a DevOps environment
• Experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
