Your Role And Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance ABAP applications in SAP S/4HANA, following SAP best practices and clean-core principles
- Build modern ABAP applications using the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP)
- Develop and maintain CDS Views, behavior definitions, and OData services to expose business data and logic
- Design and implement RESTful services for seamless integration with SAP BTP and external systems
- Develop and deploy ABAP applications on SAP BTP (Steampunk environment) using ABAP Development Tools (ADT)
- Design and implement ABAP + BTP hybrid architectures, enabling efficient side‑by‑side extensions
- Develop side‑by‑side extensions using CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model) and ABAP while keeping the S/4HANA core clean
- Integrate ABAP-based systems with SAP BTP services using OData, REST APIs, and event-driven mechanisms
- Collaborate with BTP applications to consume and publish business events for asynchronous processing
- Work closely with functional consultants, architects, and BTP developers to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Perform troubleshooting, debugging, performance tuning, and optimization across ABAP and BTP components
- Ensure solutions comply with security, authorization, and lifecycle management principles across S/4HANA and SAP BTP
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Strong hands-on experience in ABAP development (S/4HANA)
- Experience with ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP)
- Development of CDS Views, behavior definitions, and OData services
- Experience with ABAP on SAP BTP (Steampunk) and ABAP Development Tools (ADT)
- Experience designing ABAP + BTP hybrid architectures
- Side-by-side extensions using CAP and ABAP
