Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled SAP ABAP Developer with strong hands-on experience in GPPDB, GPDB, GPODB, and GPCDB databases to design, develop, and maintain SAP custom solutions. The ideal candidate will be proficient in ABAP development, database-driven reporting, performance tuning, and production support in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SAP ABAP programs aligned with business requirements, including reports, interfaces, forms, enhancements, and custom objects.
- Work extensively with GPPDB / GPDB / GPODB / GPCDB databases for data management, extraction, and reporting use cases.
- Gather and analyze requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams (functional consultants, business users, testing teams) and translate them into efficient technical solutions.
- Develop, test, and implement ABAP code following SAP best practices and organizational coding/documentation standards.
- Optimize existing ABAP programs and database queries for improved performance and runtime efficiency.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and quality within SAP environments, including validations and robust error handling.
- Conduct unit testing and support integration and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SAP ABAP and database-related technical issues promptly; provide ongoing support and enhancements for production systems.
- Maintain clear documentation including technical specifications, development processes, and user guides as required by delivery standards.
- Stay updated on evolving SAP ABAP tools and database technologies to continuously improve solutions.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development (custom reports, interfaces, enhancements, and related ABAP objects).
- Solid experience working with GPPDB, GPDB, GPODB, GPCDB databases and optimizing database interactions.
- Proven capability in performance optimization for ABAP programs and data access patterns.
- Expertise in preparing and maintaining technical specifications and documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to support production issues.
- Good communication and collaboration skills; ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders.
Good to Have
- Exposure to structured development practices: code reviews, test documentation, and release/transport discipline.
- Experience with ABAP performance guidelines and best practices for database-intensive programs.
