Salesforce Development Lead

Role Summary

Responsible for leading the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of Salesforce platform solutions (CRM, CPQ, FinancialForce, Experience Cloud), ensuring high-quality engineering outcomes, alignment to architecture standards, and consistent delivery across squads

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of Salesforce solutions across squads, ensuring alignment with engineering standards and best practices
  • Provide technical leadership across Salesforce CRM, Experience Cloud, Apex programming, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura, JavaScript
  • Drive adoption of Salesforce DX, CI/CD, DevOps practices, and Git-based version control across teams
  • Strong understanding of integration patterns including REST/SOAP APIs, middleware (e.g. MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services), and microservices architecture
  • Knowledge in Conga CPQ, Certinia (FinancialForce), and Experience Cloud enhancements is highly desirable
  • Contribute to and validate solution architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability
  • Conduct technical design reviews and enforce development standards and best practices
  • Lead and mentor developers and senior developers, supporting capability uplift and consistent engineering practices
  • Collaborate with technical leads, architects, product owners, and stakeholders to align technical delivery with business outcomes
  • Support estimation, planning, risk management, and delivery forecasting across squads
  • Drive adoption of modern engineering practices including automation and AI-assisted development (e.g. Salesforce Einstein, Agentforce)

Core Skills

  • Advanced Salesforce platform development and architecture (Apex, LWC, Aura)
  • Integration design (REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven and synchronous patterns)
  • DevOps practices (CI/CD, SFDX, release and environment management)
  • Security and access control (roles, profiles, permission sets, governance)
  • Debugging, performance optimisation, and production support
  • Stakeholder management, mentoring, and technical leadership

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years in agile delivery environments
  • Minimum 6 years in Salesforce ecosystem
  • Lead / People Management experience
  • Proven experience leading delivery of complex enterprise Salesforce solutions
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring teams and managing technical delivery outcomes
  • Experience working across multiple squads or delivery streams

Qualification

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification
  • Salesforce Platform Developer II (highly desirable)
