Summary and role purpose:

RONIN International is a global market research company providing best-in-class data collection services for B2B, opinion former and healthcare audiences worldwide.

The Sales Systems Analyst is a newly created hands-on analyst/developer role within Sales Operations. It will strengthen RONIN's commercial reporting infrastructure by improving the Power BI reporting layer, CRM data quality, integrations and automation, reducing reliance on manual spreadsheet-based reporting.

The successful candidate will be able to work with business stakeholders to understand, challenge and translate requirements, then design, build and deliver practical reporting and automation solutions using Power BI, CRM and connected data sources. The successful candidate can:

  • Capture, clarify and translate commercial reporting requirements into reliable datasets, semantic models, measures and dashboards.
  • Design and build clear, engaging and audience-appropriate Power BI reports that turn sales, finance and operational data into actionable insight.
  • Initially focused on sales reporting, with integration between Power BI and CRM as the primary workstream. Later phases are likely to include reporting on WIP, profitability, lead conversion, account health and marketing performance.
  • Improve CRM and source-data capture so commercial data is structured consistently from first touch through pipeline, bid, win/loss, delivery handoff and finance integration.
  • Build repeatable data transformations, refreshes, reconciliations, documentation and workflow automations.
  • Work with department leads to ensure agreed metrics are captured at source, modelled correctly and presented reliably.

This role is best suited to a business-facing analyst/developer who enjoys turning messy requirements, data and processes into practical, well-governed reporting and automation solutions. It is not a general sales administration, manual report-production or marketing execution role.

Core duties:

  • Work with key stakeholders to understand reporting, CRM and automation needs.
  • Challenge unclear definitions, inconsistent data logic and manual workarounds constructively.
  • Translate business requirements into practical solution designs, delivery plans and documented reporting rules.
  • Balance immediate reporting needs with scalable, governed data and automation design.

Design and build Power BI reporting and dashboard solutions

  • Build and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, datasets and semantic models.
  • Create reliable models and KPI logic for sales operations key metrics.
  • Turn sales, finance and operational data into clear reports that help users move from headline insight to supporting detail.

Maintain data quality and reporting reliability

  • Build repeatable transformations, checks and reconciliations across CRM, finance, operational and later marketing data.
  • Identify and resolve refresh issues, broken sources, data inconsistencies and reporting bottlenecks.

Improve CRM and commercial data structure

  • Strengthen CRM fields, statuses, lifecycle stages, validation rules, ownership rules and classification structures.
  • Support cleaner account, contact, lead, opportunity and campaign data from first touch through pipeline, win/loss and finance handoff.

Build integrations and automations

  • Support reliable data flows between CRM, reporting, finance, operational, website, and other data sources.
  • Build automation across the data and reporting stack, from source integration through to end-user reporting, minimising manual steps and improving consistency and reliability.

Support governance and adoption

  • Document data sources, refreshes, KPI definitions and reporting limitations.
  • Work with department leads on requirements, access, deployment and platform governance.

Experience:

Essential experience and skills

  • Experience working with business stakeholders to understand, challenge and translate reporting and automation requirements into delivered solutions.
  • Strong hands-on Power BI developer/operator experience, including Power BI Desktop, Power Query/M, DAX, semantic modelling, report design, scheduled refresh and dataset/report maintenance.
  • Ability to design effective Power BI visualisations for different audiences, including clear layouts and visual choices, drill-throughs, filtering, navigation and performance-aware design.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling for reporting, including relationships, reusable measures, controlled KPI logic and clear definitions.
  • Experience reconciling reporting outputs against source systems and resolving data-quality issues, refresh failures and definition mismatches.
  • Working knowledge of connectors, workflow automation tools, structured data sources and API-based concepts; direct experience with Power Automate, JSON/REST or similar tools would be advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal English, strong documentation discipline and ability to work independently while staying aligned to leadership priorities.

Desirable experience and skills

  • Practical knowledge of CRM data structures, sales pipeline reporting and enterprise CRM platforms such as Zoho, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce or similar systems, including accounts, contacts, leads, opportunities, stages, statuses, ownership, segmentation and data hygiene.
  • Familiarity with sales operations, finance operations, revenue operations, marketing-source reporting, pipeline management, forecasting or account-health reporting.
  • SQL for extraction, validation or reconciliation; Azure, Microsoft Fabric or other cloud/data environments; ETL or data pipeline experience.
  • SharePoint Lists, Microsoft 365 operational data sources, CPQ-style/rate-card workflows or proposal-support automation.
  • Experience in professional services, market research, agency or other project-based commercial environments.

Skills and personal qualities

  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong data-quality mindset.
  • Curiosity, initiative and a genuine interest in solving business problems through better systems, cleaner data and better reporting.
  • Ability to challenge inconsistent definitions constructively and turn ambiguity into documented rules, measures and workflows.
  • Commercial empathy: able to understand what Sales, Finance, Operations and Marketing need from the data without taking over ownership of their underlying business processes.
  • Practical delivery focus: able to improve messy manual processes in stages while building toward scalable, governed reporting infrastructure.
  • Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including internal IT and senior commercial users.

Role profile

The strongest candidates will combine Power BI development capability with CRM and commercial data-process awareness. They will be comfortable working with stakeholders to understand requirements, challenge unclear definitions, improve data capture at source, and personally build the reporting and automation solutions needed to make sales, pipeline, forecasting and finance integration more accurate and less manual.

This role is best suited to a business-facing analyst/developer, not a general sales administrator, manual report producer, marketing execution specialist or pure software developer.
