Job Summary

The Sales Project Engineer is responsible for managing both the technical and commercial aspects of project-based sales involving machinery, equipment, tools, systems, and installation works. The role combines engineering expertise with sales responsibility, ensuring proper project scoping, costing, proposal preparation, client coordination, and successful implementation of awarded projects.

The position handles end-to-end project sales—from technical consultation and quotation up to installation, commissioning, turnover, and after-sales support.

Duties And Responsibilities

Technical Sales and Project Development

  • Identify and develop project opportunities in industrial, commercial, and corporate accounts.
  • Conduct technical consultations with clients to understand project requirements.
  • Recommend appropriate engineering solutions, equipment, and system designs.
  • Participate in project planning, scope definition, and technical discussions.
  • Achieve assigned sales and project acquisition targets.

Site Inspection and Engineering Assessment

  • Conduct site visits and technical evaluations prior to project proposal.
  • Assess site conditions, measurements, and installation feasibility.
  • Identify technical risks, constraints, and requirements.
  • Prepare site inspection reports and engineering recommendations.

Project Proposal and Costing

  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals for projects.
  • Develop detailed costing including materials, labor, equipment, and installation.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and technical specifications.
  • Ensure accuracy of engineering estimates and compliance with project requirements.
  • Prepare bid documents for private and government project requirements when applicable.

Project Coordination and Execution

  • Coordinate project implementation from award to completion.
  • Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and turnover of systems and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate with technicians, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments.
  • Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and milestones.

Sales Account Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, progress, and concerns.
  • Manage client expectations and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Handle repeat orders and upselling opportunities for existing clients.

After-Sales Support and Technical Service

  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and post-installation assistance.
  • Coordinate warranty claims, repairs, and preventive maintenance services.
  • Ensure proper turnover and documentation of completed projects.
  • Maintain long-term client relationships for future projects.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare project status reports, sales reports, and technical updates.
  • Maintain complete documentation of proposals, contracts, and project files.
  • Update CRM and project tracking systems regularly.
  • Coordinate with Accounting for billing, progress billing, and collections.

Compliance and Coordination

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, engineering standards, and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Logistics, Accounting, and Operations teams.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by management.

Qualifications

Educational Requirement

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering course.

Experience

  • At least 1–3 years experience in project sales, technical sales, engineering design, or project implementation.
  • Experience in HVAC, construction, electrical systems, or industrial equipment is highly preferred.
  • Experience in handling end-to-end project execution is an advantage.
