JOB OVERVIEW:

The Sales Outreach Specialist will support the company's business development efforts by researching prospective organizations, initiating outbound communication, qualifying potential opportunities, and scheduling appointments for senior members of the sales team. The role will initially focus on reaching decision-makers within schools, after-school programs, and other education-related organizations through phone calls, email, and other approved outreach channels.

The ideal candidate is a confident and personable sales professional with impeccable oral and written comprehension skills. The candidate must be able to understand detailed instructions, prospect responses, business needs, objections, and subtle conversational cues accurately. In addition to prospecting and appointment setting, the specialist may occasionally conduct discovery calls independently and must have successful prior experience leading these conversations, identifying prospect needs, qualifying opportunities, and determining appropriate next steps.

JOB ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research prospective schools, after-school programs, education providers, and other target organizations.
  • Identify appropriate decision-makers and verify their contact information.
  • Review each organization's programs, needs, location, and other relevant details before beginning outreach.
  • Conduct outbound calls, emails, and other approved outreach activities.
  • Introduce the company's products and services clearly, accurately, and professionally.
  • Ask appropriate qualifying questions to understand the prospect's needs, priorities, authority, timing, budget considerations, and potential fit.
  • Build rapport with educators, administrators, program directors, and other prospective customers.
  • Listen carefully to prospect responses and accurately interpret their needs, concerns, questions, objections, and level of interest.
  • Respond to basic questions about the company's programs, products, and services using approved information and sales materials.
  • Generate interest and schedule qualified appointments, presentations, or discovery calls for senior sales team members.
  • Conduct initial discovery calls when assigned.
  • Lead structured discovery conversations to uncover the prospect's current situation, goals, challenges, requirements, decision-making process, and expected timeline.
  • Ask thoughtful follow-up and probing questions based on the information shared by the prospect.
  • Determine whether an opportunity meets the company's established qualification criteria.
  • Clearly summarize discovery-call findings, risks, objections, needs, and recommended next steps for the senior sales team.
  • Escalate complex, technical, contractual, or pricing questions to the appropriate team member.
  • Conduct timely and persistent follow-ups with interested and unresponsive prospects.
  • Nurture leads that are not immediately ready to schedule a meeting or make a purchasing decision.
  • Maintain accurate and complete prospect, contact, activity, discovery, and follow-up records in HubSpot.
  • Update lead stages, notes, tasks, appointments, qualification details, and outcomes promptly.
  • Follow established outreach scripts, discovery frameworks, campaign messaging, qualification criteria, and sales processes.
  • Personalize outreach based on the prospect's organization, responsibilities, and potential needs.
  • Support targeted outreach campaigns for specific geographic areas or customer segments.
  • Coordinate with the sales and marketing teams regarding campaign results, common objections, prospect feedback, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Track outreach activity, conversations, qualified leads, completed discovery calls, appointments, and other assigned performance metrics.
  • Prepare regular reports on campaign progress and sales activity.
  • Assist with basic marketing coordination, lead database maintenance, campaign preparation, and social media activities when needed.
  • Participate in product training, sales coaching, campaign reviews, and team meetings.
  • Develop sufficient product knowledge to represent the company accurately and confidently.
  • Perform other sales, outreach, and marketing-related responsibilities reasonably connected to the role.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Education, or a related field is preferred.

  • Experience communicating with prospective customers through phone calls and email.
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
  • Impeccable oral and written comprehension skills.
  • Ability to understand detailed instructions, processes, product information, and business terminology accurately.
  • Ability to fully understand prospect responses, including complex explanations, objections, indirect concerns, and changes in conversational direction.
  • Ability to retain important information, connect details shared during a conversation, and ask relevant follow-up questions.
  • Strong active-listening skills and the ability to avoid relying solely on scripted questions.
  • Ability to distinguish between general interest and a genuinely qualified sales opportunity.
  • Ability to accurately summarize conversations and document the prospect's actual needs without misinterpretation or omission.
