Key Responsibilities
Make on-site visits to vessels and customer facilities to develop trust, strengthen rapport, and gather in-depth knowledge of client challenges.
Cultivate and sustain strong, long-term partnerships with both existing and prospective accounts through regular in-person interactions.
Draft and deliver accurate sales quotes, actively track open proposals, and successfully close transactions to generate revenue.
Manage day-to-day customer communications, responding swiftly to phone and email enquiries to offer timely support.
Design and follow structured sales plans to consistently achieve or surpass assigned revenue targets.
Work closely with internal operations, logistics, and technical departments to ensure efficient order fulfilment and high customer satisfaction.
Track marine and industrial sector developments to uncover fresh business leads and grow the client base.
Offer technical guidance and product knowledge to customers, identify and resolve their operational issues, and suggest appropriate equipment or spare parts.
Candidate Profile
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
2-4 years of experience in technical outside sales, field engineering, or industrial account management, preferably within shipping, marine supply, or industrial sectors.
Willing and physically able to board vessels (at anchorage or in port) and travel regularly to shipyards or industrial work sites.
Strong business sense, effective negotiation abilities, and a proactive approach to addressing customer technical needs.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple, benefit-focused language for ship superintendents, procurement officers, and technical managers.
A valid Class 3 driving license is an advantage.
