Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Marine Sales Manager to drive sales growth and market expansion for marine engines, propulsion systems, and related marine equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine engine sales, excellent industry relationships, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets within the commercial marine, shipbuilding, offshore, fishing, and government sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in marine engine and propulsion system markets.
- Build and maintain relationships with ship owners, shipyards, fleet operators, marine contractors, naval architects, and government agencies.
- Generate leads, conduct client presentations, and negotiate commercial agreements.
- Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting to contract closure.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and key accounts.
- Provide technical and commercial support to customers regarding marine engine solutions.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Monitor customer requirements and market trends to identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with engineering and service teams to develop customized solutions.
- Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and tender submissions.
- Advise customers on engine selection, performance specifications, emissions compliance, and lifecycle costs.
- Support commissioning and after-sales activities when required.
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, and market developments.
- Analyze industry trends in marine propulsion, emissions regulations, and vessel technologies.
- Provide market feedback to management for product and business development initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team.
- Establish sales targets and performance metrics.
- Conduct regular sales reviews and pipeline management meetings.
- Coordinate with marketing, operations, and service departments to ensure business objectives are achieved.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in marine engine sales, marine equipment sales, or marine propulsion systems.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong understanding of marine engines, propulsion systems, auxiliary equipment, and vessel operations.
- Experience working with commercial shipping, shipyards, offshore, fishing, defense, or government marine sectors.
