Role Summary
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you will be responsible for driving lead generation efforts and ensuring a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects. This role focuses on both inbound and outbound outreach, using research and market insights to identify opportunities and engage potential customers within the commercial and infrastructure sectors across New Zealand and Australia.
You will play a key role in qualifying leads, uncovering insights, and supporting the wider sales team in progressing opportunities through the sales pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Research and Market Insights
- Conduct detailed research on companies, projects, and stakeholders within the commercial and infrastructure sectors.
- Use online tools, databases, and market insights to build and maintain a comprehensive list of potential leads.
- Analyse market trends and provide actionable insights to support and refine lead-generation strategies.
Outbound Prospecting
- Execute targeted outbound outreach via email, phone, and LinkedIn to generate new leads.
- Develop personalised communication approaches to effectively engage potential customers.
- Identify and connect with decision-makers within target organisations in the construction and infrastructure space.
Lead Qualification and Handover
- Conduct discovery calls to understand prospect needs, challenges, and potential use cases.
- Qualify leads against defined criteria before handing them over to the sales team.
- Work closely with Account Executives and Business Development Managers to ensure smooth and effective transitions.
Data Management and Reporting
- Maintain and update lead and CRM databases, ensuring accuracy and relevance of information.
- Track key performance metrics, including outreach activity, conversion rates, and pipeline contribution.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports on lead-generation activity and outcomes.
Collaboration with Sales and Marketing
- Partner closely with sales and marketing teams to align outreach and lead-generation efforts.
- Provide feedback on lead quality and campaign effectiveness to support continuous improvement.

- Provide data-driven recommendations to improve targeting and outreach effectiveness.
Collaboration and Reporting
- Maintain clear and proactive communication with sales and marketing stakeholders.
- Deliver accurate, transparent, and timely reporting on performance and results.
