We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Sales and Receivable Accountant to support the Accounting Department in achieving accurate, complete, and timely recording and reporting of all sales and receivable transactions.
The role involves consolidating data from multiple stores and sources, ensuring proper posting in the companys Accounting Information System, and monitoring collections to maintain healthy cash flow. This position also supports the control and monitoring of customer loyalty programs and related transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales
- Review and validate migrated sales records from stores and POS systems into QNE based on submitted daily sales reports
- Ensure all sales data are recorded within 5 working days after month-end
- Match cash sales against bank deposits
- Prepare journal vouchers (JVs) related to sales transactions and adjustments
- Prepare and submit weekly sales reports
- Receivables
- Monitor collections from credit card companies
- Record and post collections accurately
- Prepare salary deduction advice for employee purchases
- Reconcile credit sales with subsidiary ledgers
- Monitor subsidiary ledgers for employees and credit card companies
- Prepare debit/credit memos (DM/CM) for receivable adjustments
- Prepare JVs for receivable-related transactions
- Promotions
- Review promotional transactions for accuracy and proper application
- Prepare necessary JVs for adjustments
- Gift Checks (GC)
- Monitor and control issuance and usage of gift checks
- Prepare JVs for GC-related transactions, including:
- Company giveaways, prizes, and service incentives
- Long outstanding or unredeemed GCs
- Other Functions
- Assist in operational tasks when needed (e.g., inventory count, cash count, audits)
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accountancy
- At least 1 year of relevant accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Proficient in accounting systems (experience with QNE is a plus)
- Willing to render overtime when necessary
- Willing to travel or be assigned to field locations (stores, provincial sites, etc.)
