Job Summary
The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing safety programs, conducting workplace inspections, identifying hazards, and ensuring compliance with occupational safety and health regulations. This role focuses on preventing workplace incidents, managing risks, and promoting a strong safety culture.
What You'll Do
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards and regulations
- Conduct workplace inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards
- Perform hazard identification, risk assessment, and implement safety controls
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents and prepare detailed reports
- Monitor safety practices and recommend corrective actions
- Develop and implement safety programs and initiatives
- Promote awareness of workplace safety policies and procedures
- Ensure equipment and workplace conditions meet safety requirements
- Support emergency response and risk mitigation activities
- Maintain safety documentation and compliance records
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience in safety management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of occupational safety and health standards
- Experience in incident investigation, risk assessment, and safety inspections
- Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) are preferred
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and address workplace risks
- Proactive and committed to maintaining a safe work environment
