Safety Officer 2 - Commercial Fit Out

Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Safety Officer to ensure full EHS compliance, worker safety, and strict adherence to building management fit-out guidelines for an upcoming commercial project. You will work closely with the Person-in-Charge (PIC) to enforce safety standards, oversee high-risk activities, and maintain LEED-compliant site environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Directly supervise high-risk operations, managing Hot Work Permits, slab-scanning verification, and safe structural drilling/coring procedures.
• Enforce site setup standards, including complete floor-to-ceiling hoarding boards, dust containment, floor/wall protections, and designated access routes.
• Monitor site compliance with building management rules, noisy-work schedule restrictions, and strict elevator/stairwell access policies.
• Conduct daily Toolbox Meetings, site hazard assessments, and ensure valid JSA/JSHA documentation is posted on site.
• Verify material safety compliance, ensuring adherence to LEED standards (low-VOC paints, anti-termite/fire-rated timber, LED fixtures).
• Manage site emergency readiness, fire extinguishers, PPE enforcement, and restroom cleanliness standards.

Qualifications:

• Certified Safety Officer (BOSH / DOLE COSH Certification required).
• 3+ years of site safety experience in commercial building interior fit-outs.
• Thorough knowledge of DOLE OSH standards, building management EHS rules, and hot work safety protocols.
• Strong leadership and firm enforcement of safety on site.
