Your Role
The responsibilities of the Safe Work Coordinator will include but not be limited to:
- Supporting a team of 12 proactive and reactive general maintenance team members
- Drive the Safe Work Culture of the general maintenance and fuel teams by providing accurate information and measurement for accreditation, safety focus and improvement, process improvement, system usage, frameworks and timelines
- Build and maintain strong relationships with multi discipline team members.
- Ensure maintenance work is performed in accordance with WPCG standards and controls, where required.
- Search for the root causes of safety incidents, failure and breakdowns.
- Improved equipment reliability, availability, and uptime.
- Reduced long-term maintenance costs both in repair costs and labour costs.
- Maintain positive relationships through various communication channels
- Maintain and manage the CMMS systems ensuring all contractors are accounted for and work orders processed according to team safety KPI's
- Regularly assess and update procedures to enhance safety, efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Implement innovative solutions to improve productivity and resource utilisation; focus on utilisation of existing tools such as MC (CMMS) and Safety Culture.
- Track key metrics to measure safety gains and cost savings are reported to the team
What You Need
- Some experience in a high volume, multi-site general maintenance environment
- Ability to understand the value of procedural excellence and accreditation in high risk safety environments
- Ability to identify risks and implement appropriate protective measures.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong ability to convey information clearly.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective relationships with contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in prioritizing managing tasks across multiple disciplines
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver effective resolutions.
- Skilled in time management, planning, and goal setting to ensure task completion.
- Ensure timely delivery of compliance, reports and analysis reports for targets and KPIs.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to interpret reports.
- Preferable retail site experience or equivalent, preferably in a trade-related and/ or petrol and convenience related business.
