Job Description

SaaS Product Motion Designer / Motion Graphics Designer

Remote

About Nimbus+

Nimbus+ is a modern SaaS platform being developed for architecture, engineering, construction, and project teams to manage project information, coordination, workflows, and delivery in one connected environment.

Nimbus+ brings together key project workflows including:

  • Task Management
  • Request for Information (RFI)
  • Design Change Management
  • Drawing Version Control & Management
  • User and Project Management
  • Project communication and collaboration
  • Cross-module project traceability

We are preparing Nimbus+ for market launch and are looking for a talented SaaS Product Motion Designer / Motion Graphics Designer who can help us communicate the product visually.

This is not a traditional video editing role.

We are looking for someone who can take a software feature, workflow, or product concept and turn it into a clear, engaging, polished SaaS product video.

About the Role

We are looking for a SaaS Product Motion Designer / Motion Graphics Designer for an initial 1-month contract, with the possibility of extension based on performance, quality, communication, and ongoing project requirements.

You will work with our product team to create:

  1. SaaS product walkthrough / how-to videos
  2. Feature-specific product explainers
  3. A promotional / advertisement-style video for the Nimbus+ landing page
  4. Potential future product launch, onboarding, and marketing videos

The objective is simple:

Make Nimbus+ easy to understand visually.

Our users include architects, engineers, consultants, project managers, and other professionals who need to understand how Nimbus+ can improve their project workflows.

What You Will Work On1. SaaS Product Walkthrough Videos

We are developing a series of short, visually engaging videos explaining how Nimbus+ works.

Potential topics include:

Task Management

Create → Assign → Execute → Collaborate → Review → Complete

Request for Information

Create → Assign → Respond → Review → Resolve

Design Change Management

Create → Review → Approve → Issue → Implement → Verify → Close

Drawing Management

Upload → Register → Review → Approve → Current → Supersede → Issue → Archive

The videos should help viewers understand not just what buttons to click, but how the workflow works and why it matters.

These should feel like modern SaaS product videos rather than basic screen recordings.

2. Nimbus+ Landing Page Promotional Video

We also have a storyboard for a promotional video for the Nimbus+ landing page.

The general storytelling direction is:

Problem → Solution → Nimbus+ → Connected Workflows → Business Value

We will provide the existing storyboard and product context.

However, we don't want someone who simply executes instructions.

We want a designer who can review the storyboard and provide creative input on:

  • Visual treatment
  • Animation style
  • Product/UI presentation
  • Pacing
  • Transitions
  • Motion graphics
  • Storytelling
  • How to communicate product value more effectively

We want you to be able to say:

This section would work better visually if...

Your creative input is encouraged.

The Visual Style We Are Looking For

Modern SaaS / Product Motion Design

We are looking for:

  • Clean UI animation
  • Smooth transitions
  • Modern typography
  • Strong visual hierarchy
  • Professional pacing
  • Subtle but purposeful motion
  • Product-focused storytelling
  • Elegant micro-interactions
  • Minimal but effective motion graphics
  • High-quality SaaS presentation

The goal is not to use as many effects as possible.

The goal is:

Make the product easy to understand and make the viewer want to use it.

Every animation, transition, highlight, zoom, or callout should have a purpose.

Responsibilities

You may be responsible for:

  • Reviewing product workflows
  • Understanding feature objectives
  • Reviewing storyboards
  • Developing visual treatments
  • Creating style frames
  • Planning animation sequences
  • Animating product UI
  • Creating motion graphics
  • Typography animation
  • Creating transitions
  • Highlighting important UI elements
  • Creating visual callouts
  • Creating product-focused scenes
  • Adding appropriate sound design
  • Preparing final video exports
  • Maintaining visual consistency across videos
  • Incorporating feedback
  • Delivering editable project/source files
  • Suggesting improvements to the visual storytelling

You may also help establish a repeatable Nimbus+ visual language for future product videos.

Expected Initial Deliverables

The initial engagement will be approximately one month.

Landing Page Promotional Video

Expected work includes:

  • Review of existing storyboard
  • Creative / visual treatment
  • Style direction
  • Product UI integration
  • Motion graphics
  • Animation
  • Transitions
  • Sound design where appropriate
  • Final production
  • Editable source files

Product Walkthrough Video Series

Approximately 4–6 short SaaS product walkthrough videos, depending on complexity.

Potential topics include:

  • Task Management
  • RFI Management
  • Design Change Management
  • Drawing Management
  • User / Project Management
  • Cross-module workflows

The exact number may vary according to complexity.

Quality and consistency are more important than simply producing a high number of videos.

Production Expectations

Our preferred process is:

Brief → Concept → Visual Direction → Storyboard → Animation → Review → Revision → Final

Each video should generally include:

  • Agreed visual direction
  • Animation
  • Transitions
  • Typography
  • Product/UI presentation
  • Basic sound design where appropriate
  • Final web-ready export
  • Editable project/source files

Up to 2 reasonable revision rounds per video are expected unless otherwise agreed based on complexity.

Required Skills & Experience

You should have demonstrated experience with:

  • Motion graphics
  • SaaS/product videos
  • Product animation
  • UI animation
  • Visual storytelling
  • Typography animation
  • Storyboarding
  • Video composition
  • Timing and pacing
  • Professional video production

You should be able to determine:

What should the viewer see

What should be animated

What should be explained through text

What should be demonstrated through the UI

Where should the viewer's attention go

Strongly Preferred Experience

We particularly want to see previous work involving:

  • SaaS products
  • Software interfaces
  • Product launch videos
  • Product walkthroughs
  • UI animation
  • Landing page videos
  • Explainer videos
  • B2B software
  • Enterprise software
  • Digital products
  • Technology companies

A portfolio showing product motion design is significantly more relevant than a general video-editing portfolio.

Creative Thinking Is Important

We don't want five static screenshots connected by arrows.

For example, an RFI workflow could visually communicate:

Create → Assign → Respond → Review → Resolve

through an actual product story showing the request moving between project participants, supporting information appearing, the response being submitted, and the Project Manager resolving the request.

The viewer should understand:

What happened

Who is involved

What does Nimbus+ do

Why does this workflow matter

Working Style

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Creative
  • Detail-oriented
  • Self-motivated
  • Reliable
  • Responsive
  • Comfortable receiving feedback
  • Comfortable proposing alternatives
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working with an early-stage SaaS product

You should be comfortable working directly with a product team and asking questions when something is unclear.

If the collaboration works well, there may be ongoing work covering:

Selection ProcessStage 1 — Portfolio Review

We will review your previous product and motion design work.

Stage 2 — Creative Discussion

Shortlisted candidates will have a short meeting with our team.

We will provide our Nimbus+ landing-page storyboard and product context and ask how you would approach bringing it to life.

We are interested in your creative thinking, not just your ability to execute.

Stage 3 — Practical Assessment

We may request a small practical exercise or paid sample project to evaluate:

  • Visual quality
  • Product storytelling
  • UI animation
  • Motion design
  • Attention to detail
  • Creative thinking
  • Communication
  • Ability to work with a product workflow

What Success Looks Like

At the end of the initial engagement, we want:

1. A polished Nimbus+ landing-page promotional video

2. A consistent visual language for Nimbus+ product videos

3. A first series of high-quality SaaS walkthrough videos

4. A repeatable approach for future product videos

Most importantly, we want someone who can help us communicate Nimbus+ clearly to someone who has never seen the product before.

If a viewer can immediately understand:

What is Nimbus+

How does it work

How would it help my project team

then the video has done its job.
