Job Description Details
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations and ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This role supervises a team of accounting staff, supports the preparation of financial reports, and ensures the timely completion of accounting tasks. The Accounting Supervisor works closely with management to maintain reliable financial records and effective internal controls.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise daily accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
- Review journal entries, schedules, and supporting documents prepared by accounting staff.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with PFRS.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting procedures, and reporting deadlines.
- Monitor and support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Coordinate with auditors and external consultants during audits and reviews.
- Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to accounting staff.
- Support management with accurate financial information and operational insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Accountancy
- CPA preferred, but non-CPAs are welcome to apply
- At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role (e.g., Senior Accountant, Team Lead, or Supervisor)
- Solid understanding of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS)
- Knowledge of PFRS 17 is highly desirable
- Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel; ERP knowledge is a plus
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
