Primary Objective

In today's fast-paced and technology-driven world, businesses are increasingly turning to automation to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs. As an RPA Automation Developer and Operations Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining these transformative initiatives. This position combines technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a passion for continuous improvement that empower the organisation.

Your primary objective will be to provide robust Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions that simplify complex business processes and improve operational efficiency. By maintaining and enhancing existing RPA workflows, you will ensure that performance, stability, and scalability are optimised to meet the organisation's evolving needs. You will also monitor and troubleshoot RPA bots, resolve technical issues, and perform root cause analysis to minimise disruptions and maintain service-level agreements (SLAs).

A key aspect of this role will involve working closely with the Operations Management team and leaders to align automation initiatives with business priorities and ensure seamless integration into daily operations.

Collaboration will be key to your success as you work with cross-functional teams to integrate RPA solutions with enterprise systems. Effective communication and the ability to manage multiple initiatives will be essential. You will also develop technical documentation and participate in on-call rotations to support critical systems.

To excel in this role, you will bring extensive experience in automation development, with expertise in tools like UiPath or Power Automate and programming languages such as Python or .Net. Your skills in process optimisation and emerging technologies like machine learning and cloud platforms will position you as a key contributor to Gallagher's exciting future. As the organisation advances its agentic and automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with key business stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and enhancements to existing automation.
• Design, develop, test and implement Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions to streamline business processes.
• Maintain RPA solutions to ensure schedules, reports, and SLAs are achieved.
• Enhance existing RPA solutions to ensure optimal performance, stability, and scalability.
• Maintain and support RPA solutions and resolve technical issues
• Monitor and troubleshoot RPA bots and workflows to ensure smooth operations.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices in RPA development.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including process design documents, solution design documents, and user guides.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate RPA solutions with existing systems and applications.
• Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to automation processes and tools.
• Communicate with relevant stakeholders providing updates, discussing issues, risks and priorities
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies and upskill to meet the evolving needs of the role
• Participate in on-call rotation to support critical systems outside of normal hours
  
  

Required Skills And Experience

• 5+ years experience as an Automation Developer/Engineer
• Proven experience in developing and deploying RPA solutions using tools such as UiPath, Power Automate, or similar tools.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, .Net, or similar languages.
• Solid understanding of process analysis, design, and optimisation.
• Experience in the insurance industry, particularly in broking systems is highly desirable
• Experience with integrating RPA solutions with enterprise systems and applications
• Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting RPA workflows and scripts.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of problem and change management techniques.
  
  

Desirable Skills And Experience

• Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts to enhance automation and agentic capabilities
• Certification in RPA and Agentic tools e.g., UiPath Certified Professional
• Experience with AI/ML concepts and integration with RPA
• Experience with API development
• Experience working with OCR and document frameworks to automate data extraction
• Experience with scripting languages like PowerShell or Bash.
• Knowledge of database management and SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Awareness of regulatory and compliance requirements in industries such as insurance or finance.
• Microsoft Server administration
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for hosting RPA solutions.
