RFP / Proposal Writer for US Public Relations firm

A well established and award-winning US public relations firm is seeking a remote RFP / Proposal Writer in the Philippines.  This ideal candidate is a writer by trade and able to meet internally with team members, do research, and gather information to then craft a compelling, human written, narrative response to RFPs. The company specializes in the education sector; this role will primarily be tasked with crafting RFPs for US universities and colleges related to marketing services.

Time zone: Central Time, USA (CDT)

Pay: $1500 - $1800 USD/month, depending on experience/qualifications

Type: Ind. Contractor. Initial 3-month engagement w/opportunity for long-term work.

Shift:  Availability for meetings and interviews with internal staff on US CST time zone.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Draft customized, compelling responses to individual RFP questions and sections rather than relying on generic or boilerplate content. Balance technical information, data, and company capabilities with marketing-oriented writing appropriate for senior-level decision makers.

• Research prospective clients and organizations to understand their goals, priorities, audiences, and communication needs.

• Interview internal subject matter experts to gather information, examples, statistics, and supporting details needed for proposals.

• Search for and review RFPs and RFQs for marketing services from universities, school districts, municipalities, and other organizations to understand requirements, evaluation criteria, and key messaging opportunities. 

• Use AI tools when appropriate to assist with research and organization, while ensuring final writing is thoughtful, customized, and human-written.

• Create a library of standard responses to common RFP/RFQ questions to gain efficiencies in the solicitation process. 

Key Qualifications & Skills:

• Excellent written English with strong grammar, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Background and/or education in writing. Ability to turn complex or technical information into clear, persuasive narrative with accurate, credible data points.
• Preferred previous experience writing RFPs, proposals, technical content, and/or marketing content, ideally related to universities, government organizations, or school districts in the US.
• Strong research skills and ability to quickly learn about unfamiliar organizations, industries, and topics.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed RFP instructions and manage multiple RFP deadlines as they arise.
