Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Assistant Manager for Retail Sales and Marketing will support and advance the company's growth in the retail electricity market under the Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) framework. This role will be responsible for managing the full sales cyclefrom lead generation to contract executionand for contributing to marketing initiatives, regulatory compliance, and overall customer relationship management.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales and Contract Management

  • Manage the full sales cycle with Contestable Customersfrom initial engagement to contract finalizationunder the Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) framework.
  • Lead contract origination, preparation, and finalization, including negotiation of commercial terms, alignment with risk parameters, and coordination with cross-functional teams (legal, regulatory, technical, finance) to ensure compliance and feasibility.
  • Develop tailored commercial offers based on customer load profiles, consumption patterns, and pricing models.
  • Maintain a healthy and well-documented sales pipeline and achieve defined targets in contracted volume (MW/kWh), revenue, and gross margin.
  • Provide regular updates on sales performance, forecasts, and market feedback

Customer Retention and Account Management

  • Oversee ongoing account management activities to ensure customer satisfaction, issue resolution, and long-term retention.
  • Serve as the principal contact for assigned accounts, proactively managing communications, service quality, and renewal planning.
  • Conduct periodic customer business reviews, usage evaluations, and commercial re-engagements to drive retention and identify upsell opportunities.
  • Implement structured retention strategies that align with customer needs and business objectives.

Marketing and Lead Generation

  • Support marketing efforts focused on lead generation through campaigns, targeted outreach, partnerships, and visibility initiatives.
  • Assist in developing segment-specific strategies for acquiring commercial, industrial, and institutional customers.
  • Leverage CRM systems and digital tools to manage prospecting activities, monitor lead quality, and improve conversion rates.
  • Collaborate and execute marketing initiatives to align campaign content, messaging, and branding with market demands.

Market Research and Business Intelligence

  • Conduct structured market research to track customer trends, energy consumption behaviors, competitor pricing, and regulatory developments.
  • Provide insights to inform sales strategies, pricing frameworks, and customer targeting.
  • Prepare market reports and customer intelligence briefs to support management decision-making and business development planning.
  • Team Supervision and Leadership
  • Provide leadership and oversight to junior sales and support personnel, including task delegation, performance monitoring, and skills development.
  • Conduct regular coaching sessions and contribute to the continuous improvement of sales team capabilities.
  • Promote a performance-driven, accountable, and collaborative team culture aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Internal Coordination
  • Ensure that all customer engagements, contracts, and marketing efforts comply with ERC regulations, RES license obligations, and internal governance protocols.
  • Coordinate closely with internal departments to align legal, financial, and technical inputs during sales and contract execution processes.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant records of all transactions and documentation in support of audits and internal reviews.

QUALIFICATION GUIDE:

EDUCATION :

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Economics, Marketing, Business, or related fields.
  • MBA or relevant post graduate degree is a plus.

EXPERIENCE :

  • Minimum of 7 years in the Philippine power industry in power sales, marketing, or contracting
  • Background in contract negotiation, customer account management, and regulatory compliance is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience is a must.

SKILLS :

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in CRM tools, MS Office, and market research.
  • Ability to interpret energy usage data and regulatory guidelines.

OTHERS :

  • Willing to travel and be deployed nationwide.
  • Comfortable working in a cross-functional and regulated environments.
