Retail Accountant (₱50,000 Starting Salary | Remote | FREE AI Certification)

Philippines | Night Shift (11:00PM-8:00AM) | Monday to Friday

Do you thrive on precision and love bringing order to complex financial data As our Retail Accountant, you'll own the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of retail units — from CAM reconciliations and lease abstracting to budgeting, forecasting, and month-end reporting for third-party clients.

You'll apply GAAP principles daily, prepare journal entries, maintain fixed assets, and generate the financial statements and owner packages that clients rely on to make decisions. If you enjoy high-volume transactional work, take pride in accuracy, and want to grow within a collaborative accounting team, this role is built for you.

YOU'RE LIKELY A STRONG FIT IF YOU HAVE

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• 1 to 3 years of related accounting experience, ideally with a multi-family or retail property management company
• A working knowledge of GAAP and its practical application to financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, plus comfort learning property management systems such as Yardi, PayScan, MRI, or OneSite
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a high volume of transactional entries accurately
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, free of typos or grammatical errors

STRONG SIGNALS

• Hands-on experience with CAM calculations, reconciliations, or lease abstracting
• Exposure to percentage rent tracking or index-based rent increase calculations
• Prior experience supporting third-party property management clients
• Experience mentoring or training junior accounting staff

RESPONSIBILITY PILLARS

Retail Accounting & Financial Reporting

You own the accuracy of monthly retail financials from close to delivery.

• Generate monthly retail financial statements and owner packages
• Prepare and monitor monthly accruals, adjusting as needed
• Prepare general and standard journal entries and maintain fixed assets
• Record and reconcile Balance Sheet activity

Lease Administration & Tenant Management

You ensure tenant and lease data stays accurate and compliant.

• Maintain rent rolls, tenant ledgers, management fees, revenues, security deposits, commissions, and occupancy records
• Process tenant reimbursements and leasing commissions in compliance with broker agreements and lease terms
• Track percentage rent, calculate index-based increases, and manage sales reporting
• Interface with the utility billing company on allocation methodology for retail tenants

Budgeting, Reconciliation & Process Improvement

You support financial accuracy and continuous improvement across the portfolio.

• Review, reconcile, and audit receipts, disbursements, and encumbrances for fiscal control
• Review budget-to-actual variances and record correcting journal entries as needed
• Assist with cash management activities, including vendor payments, deposits, receivables, security deposit refunds, and bank reconciliations
• Identify and help implement process improvements that boost efficiency and accuracy
