Job Description

The Medical City Iloilo is seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist who will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive respiratory care to patients across all age groups. This position is designed to ensure that patients receive safe, effective, and compassionate respiratory therapy aligned with the institution's values and commitment to clinical excellence.

This role reports directly to the Head of Clinical Operations.

What's the Role All About

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Administer prescribed respiratory therapy treatments such as oxygen therapy, aerosol medication, and mechanical ventilation.
  • Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate respiratory care plans and monitor patient responses to therapy.
  • Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and analysis to assist in evaluating respiratory function and treatment outcomes.
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate respiratory therapy equipment to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and safety.
  • Provide emergency respiratory support during critical situations, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and code responses.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and high-quality patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, equipment use, and preventive care techniques.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation of all respiratory care services rendered.
  • Participate in infection control and quality improvement initiatives to uphold hospital standards and patient safety.
  • Stay updated with current respiratory care techniques and technology advancements to continuously improve service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a licensed Respiratory Therapist recognized by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
  • Preferably with at least one (1) year of clinical experience in hospital or critical care settings.
  • Fresh graduates with relevant internship experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficient in operating respiratory therapy equipment and electronic medical records systems.
