Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Researcher to join our team. This role focuses on continuous monitoring of developments across the Philippines that may pose geopolitical, security, environmental, or operational risks to client operations. The successful candidate will work closely with risk analysts to produce timely alerts, in-depth assessments, and strategic advisories.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor mainstream and alternative media sources, including news platforms, social media, and government bulletins, to track developments affecting business operations such as civil unrest, political shifts, security incidents, and natural disasters.
- Identify, evaluate, and flag incidents that may result in business disruption, security exposure, or reputational risk.
- Upload, organize, and maintain critical data within internal intelligence platforms and repositories.
- Draft concise alerts, situation reports, and risk assessments for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain and update geospatial, thematic, and incident databases to support risk mapping and trend analysis.
- Support weekly internal risk briefings by preparing inputs and facilitating discussions.
- Assist in planning and coordinating fieldwork, interviews, and research activities as required.
- Develop data-driven insights and information products such as charts, infographics, and maps tailored to operational risk contexts.
- Participate in client meetings and strategy sessions to ensure outputs remain aligned with evolving requirements.
Preferred Background and Skills
- At least two years of experience in geopolitical research, risk monitoring, risk analysis, disaster management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Philippine history, politics, and security dynamics.
- Demonstrated interest in regional geopolitics, civil resistance movements, insurgency risks, disaster trends, and community-level disruptions.
- Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights.
- Strong oral and written English communication skills, including briefing and presentation capabilities.
- High attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Comfortable managing tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Familiarity with GIS, Tableau, or data visualization tools is an advantage.
