Researcher, APEC Policy Support Unit (PSU)
The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is a regional economic forum established in 1989 to leverage the growing interdependence of the Asia-Pacific. APEC's 21 members share the APEC Putrajaya Vision 2040 - of an open, dynamic, resilient, and peaceful Asia-Pacific community by 2040, for the prosperity of all our people and future generations.
Based in the APEC Secretariat in Singapore, the Policy Support Unit (PSU) is the policy research and analysis arm for APEC. It supports APEC members and fora in improving the quality of their deliberations and decisions and promoting policies that support the achievement of the APEC vision by providing objective and high-quality research, analytical capacity, and policy support capability.
An opportunity now exists for a highly meticulous, motivated, and analytical Researcher with superior quantitative skills to contribute to the APEC policy process.
The Position
Reporting to the Senior Analysts and/or Analysts, you will contribute to research projects by conducting quantitative and qualitative research on a wide range of topics. Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, are essential for this role. You must possess strong economic reasoning skills and be able to interpret data rigorously, extract key conclusions, and present findingsclearly.
The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, cleaning and analyzing data and statistics on a range of economic and policyrelated indicators for the APEC region. The role also offers hands-on exposure to high-impact regional policy work,including flagship publications. You should be familiar with economic issuesand concepts and able to write professional policy reports and prepare presentations on a broad spectrum of topics relevant to APEC, including multidimensional economic development, macroeconomics and finance, and trade and investment-related issues.
Requirements
Applicants should hold at least a bachelor's degree, preferably in Economics, and have a minimum of two years of relevant working experience. Experience in economic research, particularly macroeconomics, and use of statistical software (e.g., Stata, R) is an advantage. Familiarity with advanced quantitative analysis such as econometrics and prior completion of a research thesis will be highly regarded.Exceptionally qualified fresh graduates may also be considered for this entry-level position.

Remuneration
This is an entry-level position. Remuneration is based on a local package starting from S$4,600 monthly with medical and dental benefits. No relocation and housing allowances will be provided.
