Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Research Development Technical Manager to lead the technical commercialization of new food products, process innovations, and continuous product improvements. This role serves as the key link between Research & Development, Commissary, and Store Operations, ensuring that recipes, production processes, and technical standards are scalable, cost-effective, and operationally executable across all commissary and store locations.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in food manufacturing or restaurant operations, with strong expertise in product development, process standardization, Bill of Materials (BOM) management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical commercialization of new products, product renovations, and process improvements from concept through full-scale implementation.
  • Collaborate with Research & Development, Commissary, and Store Operations during concept, trial, and pilot stages to ensure commercial feasibility.
  • Develop, review, and maintain Technical Manuals, including equipment and material requirements, production workflows, standard operating procedures, food safety and quality standards, and quick reference guides.
  • Manage and maintain the accuracy of Bill of Materials (BOM), recipes, and product specifications in coordination with Procurement and Management Accounting.
  • Lead and mentor Technical Assistants and SAP Support personnel to ensure accurate documentation and timely project execution.
  • Work closely with Industrial Engineering on store and kitchen design, workflow optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Partner with the Training Team to facilitate effective technology transfer and successful implementation across commissary and store operations.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Audit Team to ensure compliance with food safety, quality standards, and critical control points.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product consistency, operational efficiency, and execution.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for operational and product-related issues.
  • Ensure all technical documentation is accurate, updated, and aligned with operational requirements.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8–10 years of relevant experience in Product Development, Research & Development, Process Engineering, or Technical Operations within the food industry.
  • At least 5 years of managerial experience leading technical, R&D, or process improvement teams.
  • Strong background in product commercialization, process standardization, Bill of Materials (BOM) management, technical documentation, and operational process control.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, commissary, restaurant, or Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) operations is highly preferred.
  • Experience using SAP or other ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
