Job Summary
The R&D Formulator is responsible for developing, customizing, and improving product formulations based on customer specifications and market demands. This role ensures products are safe, effective, compliant with regulatory standards, and suitable for large-scale warehouse manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and customize product formulations according to client requirements
- Modify existing formulations to meet specific customer needs (e.g., ingredient preference, pricing target, performance claims, private labeling)
- Conduct laboratory trials, pilot batches, and oversee production scale-up
- Perform stability, compatibility, and quality testing
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and GMP guidelines
- Prepare technical documents, batch records, and product specifications
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to translate customer requirements into viable formulation
- Source and evaluate alternative raw materials based on availability and cost
- Troubleshoot formulation and production concerns during manufacturing
- Support product registration and regulatory documentation as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, or related field
- Experience in product formulation and warehouse manufacturing
- Strong understanding of GMP and regulatory compliance
- Ability to adjust formulations based on cost, availability, and customer preferences
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
