Job Description
Do you love tracking down how a bill moves through a statehouse, spotting the policy shift before it makes headlines, and turning a pile of legislative text into something a busy founder can read in five minutes Are you the kind of person who's comfortable learning an unfamiliar industry fast, staying glued to fast-moving regulatory changes, and communicating clearly and often without being chased for updates If you're energized by research that actually shapes decisions, want to work closely with a small, tight-knit team, and are excited about the intersection of healthcare policy and AI, this opportunity could be the perfect fit for you.
Our Story Starts with People Like You
The two founders, best friends, were running businesses that needed great talent fast. So, they started building remote teams across countries like the Philippines, Colombia, and India. Not only did it work, it thrived. They realized that talent isn't limited by geography. With today's technology and high-speed internet, we're able to build high-performing global teams that support businesses across the U.S. So ClearDesk was born.
Today, ClearDesk helps U.S. businesses grow by building world-class remote teams. We don't just connect talent; we manage the entire experience, from recruiting to retention. And while we help clients thrive, we also stay deeply committed to helping our remote team members build real, lasting careers that support their lives and their families.
That's where you come in.
The Role: Research Assistant
Imagine being the research engine behind a team tracking how healthcare legislation and emerging AI applications in medicine are reshaping the landscape, keeping a close eye on policy developments as priorities shift and expand.
You're not just reading bills and news. You're distilling what matters, flagging what could affect healthcare innovation before it becomes obvious, and making sure the right people see the right information at the right time. From legislative tracking to summarizing emerging AI-in-medicine trends, your research keeps the team ahead of the curve rather than reacting to it.
You thrive on staying current in a fast-moving space, are comfortable using AI tools as your everyday workhorse, and don't wait to be told what to look into next. Whether you're compiling a digestible policy brief, pivoting your research focus on short notice, or checking in with the team each morning, you bring curiosity, adaptability, and clear communication to everything you do.
What Your Days Might Look Like:
- Conduct in-depth research on healthcare legislation across the United States.
- Monitor and track legislative priorities and potential policy changes that could impact healthcare innovation.
- Research emerging trends in artificial intelligence applications in medicine.
- Compile and summarize findings into digestible reports for quick review.
- Use Client's Browser for all research activities, providing usage data and feedback as you go.
- Collaborate with other team members on research-intensive tasks and projects.
- Remain flexible to pivot research focus areas as business priorities evolve.
- Use Claude AI as a primary tool for productivity and problem-solving.
- Communicate proactively via WhatsApp and email throughout the workday.
- Participate in daily morning check-ins.
Who We Think Will Thrive in This Role:
- You have strong proficiency with AI tools and genuinely enjoy using them to work faster and smarter.
- You're highly adaptable and flexible, comfortable navigating unfamiliar industries and learning new tasks quickly.
- You're tech-savvy with strong organizational skills and close attention to detail.
- You can research a dense or unfamiliar topic and turn it into a clear, digestible summary.
- You are willing to work in a US time zone schedule.
- You can secure the required technical setup, including:
- At least a 720p HD webcam
- A noise-canceling headset
- A primary internet connection of at least 25 Mbps
- A backup laptop, backup internet device, and backup power source
- A main computer with at least Intel Core i5 (or equivalent) and 8 GB RAM
- A backup computer with at least Intel Core i3 and 4 GB RAM
