The R&D Specialist supports the creation, testing, and optimization of new and existing food products. This role works closely with production teams, suppliers, and cross-functional partners to ensure that all innovations meet quality, cost, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Help develop new products by creating recipes, testing them in the kitchen, doing taste tests, and keeping proper records.
- Support research and market checks by reviewing competitor products and helping improve current items.
- Work with suppliers and production teams to make sure new products can be made properly, are cost-efficient, and run smoothly during test production.
- Make sure products follow food safety rules, including preparing labels, product details, and other requirements needed for compliance.
- Documents product testing results, and Consumer Surveys.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Food Technology, Culinary Arts, Nutrition, or related field.
- 2 years of experience in food product development (retail industry and marketing background is a plus).
- Familiarity with food production environments, suppliers, and commissaries.
- Working knowledge of food safety regulations, labeling, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
