Your Role:
As a Repair & Maintenance Manager, you will:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure long-term partnerships.
  • Ensure maintenance work is performed at regular intervals. Implementing and streamlining intervals through either calendar-based or usage-based
  • Focusing on identifying the root causes of equipment failure and breakdowns
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve the best value for the company
  • Reduced downtime due to fewer instances of malfunctions and breakdowns.
  • Improved equipment reliability, availability, and uptime.
  • Reduced long-term maintenance costs - both in repair costs and labour costs.
  • Fewer productivity and safety issues.
  • Increased longevity of equipment, resulting in further savings
  • Maintain records of all planned maintenance processes and work orders
  • Management of the Fire/safety/cleaning Asset register and the ability to interpret the most critical priorities
  • Develop and refine strategies for ad hoc maintenance, preventative maintenance, and capital works.
  • Regularly assess and update procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Identify opportunities for streamlining processes and reducing costs.
  • Implement innovative solutions to improve productivity and resource utilisation focus on utilisation of existing tools such as MC (CMMS) and Safety Culture.
  • Track key metrics to measure efficiency gains and cost savings.


What You Need:
Non-negotiables
  • Ideally, 3 yearsu0027 experience in proactive & programmed maintenance
  • Demonstrated retail site experience or equivalent, preferably in a trade-related and/ or petrol and convenience-related business.
  • Proven track record in multi-site facilities/building maintenance
  • Proven track record of contract and contractor management.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret pricing and quotations within a retail context, negotiate effectively, and challenge service provider quotes.
  • Ability to recognize the fundamental cause of equipment failures and rectify them before they cause major issues

Preferred skills/expertise

  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to hold service providers accountable and leverage business opportunities and scale as negotiating tools to improve both cost and speed of critical repairs.
  • Proficiency in prioritizing, delegating, and managing tasks across multiple disciplines
  • Ability to identify risks and implement appropriate protective measures.
  • Skilled in time management, planning, and goal setting to ensure task completion.
