Role Description The Remote Probate & Trust Administration Paralegal is a full-time role responsible for supporting attorneys and clients with probate and trust-related matters in a remote setting. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and organizing legal documents such as petitions, affidavits, accountings, and trust instruments, as well as maintaining accurate case files and timelines. The paralegal conducts legal and factual research, reviews estate and trust documents, and assists in gathering information from financial institutions, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders. Additional duties involve coordinating and tracking court filings, monitoring deadlines, drafting correspondence, and communicating with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth administration of estates and trusts. The role requires consistent, professional remote collaboration through digital tools, secure document management systems, and clear written and verbal communication.
Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Law related to probate, estates, and trust administration, with the ability to understand and apply relevant legal principles.
  • Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation for probate petitions, trust documents, accountings, inventories, and related filings.
  • Excellent Communication skills, including clear client-facing communication, professional email drafting, and effective collaboration with attorneys and team members.
  • Advanced Research capabilities to gather and analyze legal, factual, and financial information related to estates, beneficiaries, and trust assets.
  • Attention to detail in Document Review, including checking accuracy, consistency, and compliance with court and regulatory requirements.
  • Relevant experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in probate, trusts, or estate planning; certification or training in paralegal studies is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases, maintain detailed records, and meet strict deadlines in a remote environment.
  • Comfort with remote work tools and secure document management platforms; proficiency with standard office software (word processing, spreadsheets, case management systems).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high ethical standards, confidentiality, and professional judgment.
